• Enjoy your college life to the fullest because these are the best years of your life. However, don’t compromise on your studies in the process.
• Don’t come with the mindset of Biharis being dangerous or unsafe in any way. In fact, you will feel even safer than in Delhi here.
• Maintain good relationships with your seniors and alumni. The alumni network here is elaborate with some of them being in big firms like IOCL, NTPC, BPCL, BARC, ONGC, Adani, L&T, Reliance, TATA, Google, Adobe, Amazon, Snapdeal, Armed forces, IIMs, etc Maintain a CGPA more than 8 to avail the best placements
• Either join the Student Activities Center ( SAC) or join NCC,  if you want to join the armed forces in the future.
• Involve yourself in sports as NIT Patna has excellent sports facilities. 
• If you have enough time on your hands, then prepare for competitive exams like GATE, CAT, UPSC, etc.
• Don’t get exploited by some faculty who will use your skills in their own projects
• Don’t park your bike if you are in a hostel.
• The last entry time for hostels is 10 pm so make sure to arrive before the deadline.
• Join Sankalp, wherein you get to teach slum kids. This will add value to your resume and also give you a kind of self-satisfaction.
