DTU B.Tech in Chemical Engineering offers a great ROI with a fee of 2,29,000 and impressive placement stats, including an average package above 16 lakhs, making it a solid financial choice. The strong internship opportunities with top companies enhance its value further. In contrast, NIT Kurukshetra’s B.Tech in Internet of Things, while also reputable, might not have the same level of corporate engagement or placement success based on available data. For someone looking for better financial returns and opportunities, I’d recommend DTU for its established reputation and placement benefits, while NIT Kurukshetra might be better if you’re passionate about IoT specifically.

When comparing NIT and DTU, an important question arises: Which NIT? While I don't have extensive knowledge about all NITs, I do know that students from NIT Kurukshetra have landed jobs at companies like Maruti Suzuki, with packages exceeding Rs. 10 LPA.

Now, let's talk about DTU. If you consider pay packages, freshers can secure offers ranging from Rs. 40–60 LPA. Not everyone gets such high packages, but around 15–20% of eligible students in branches like COE, SE, IT, or MCE manage to land packages of Rs. 24 LPA or more.

As for academics, sports, infrastructure, and other aspects, DTU is undoubtedly the best in Delhi (if you can't make it to IIT).

  • Academics: DTU boasts some of the best labs and excellent faculty across most subjects. You might encounter a few professors who are a bit outdated in their teaching methods, but if you can adapt to their style, you'll gain a lot from their experience. It's recognized as the best institute for Mechanical Engineering in the Asia Pacific.
  • Sports: The DTU Boys Cricket Team is quite famous. I won’t claim they are the best, but they have a solid reputation.

In summary, both options have their merits, but if you prioritize academics and placement potential, DTU is a strong contender!

If I had to choose, I'd definitely prefer NITs over DTU any day!

Reason: It's quite simple.

  • Placement Opportunities: Look, placement opportunities are almost equal or even better in top NITs than in DTU. So, don’t worry about placements!
  • Peer Group: The peer group at top NITs is significantly better than at DTU (just check the cutoffs). Even students with a rank of 1 lakh+ are getting admission in DTU. That’s why I wouldn’t choose DTU.
  • Campus Experience: The crowd at DTU is really large, making it tougher to secure a good placement. If you love campus life, go for top NITs! They have expansive and beautiful campuses (generally 250–300 acres) with world-class infrastructure.
  • Facilities: The campus facilities provided by top NITs are far superior to those at DTU. You’ll realize this once you’re in college.
  • Ranking: According to rankings, the top 4 NITs (Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal, Allahabad) are rated higher than DTU.
    • Grade A+: Top 4 NITs
    • Grade A: Other NITs and DTU

So, you can confidently choose the top 4 NITs over DTU without a second thought! If you don’t get a seat in the top 4 NITs, I would still recommend other NITs like MNIT Jaipur, NIT Calicut, etc., over DTU for the reasons mentioned above.

Cheers!

In my opinion, if you’re looking for a more traditional engineering experience with strong placement opportunities, Delhi Technological University’s B.Tech in Chemical Engineering is a solid choice. DTU boasts a great faculty-to-student ratio, with many professors being IIT alumni, and offers impressive internship packages from top companies, making it a fantastic launchpad for your career. On the other hand, NIT Kurukshetra’s B.Tech in Internet of Things likely has a more modern curriculum that emphasizes emerging technologies, which could be appealing if you’re interested in cutting-edge fields. However, I think DTU edges ahead in terms of campus life and overall student support. I’d personally recommend DTU for its robust placement record and vibrant campus life, but if you’re really passionate about IoT, NIT Kurukshetra would also be a good fit.

Delhi Technological University (DTU) offers a solid B.Tech in Chemical Engineering with impressive placement stats, like the highest package reaching 1.8 Cr and an average above 16 lakhs. The internship opportunities are great too, with companies like Microsoft and Google frequently recruiting from DTU. On the other hand, NIT Kurukshetra's B.Tech in Internet of Things is a relatively newer field with potential, but specific placement data isn't as strong or detailed. If you're leaning towards a stable and lucrative path, DTU is the safer bet, especially given its established reputation and strong corporate connections. However, if you're passionate about IoT and willing to take some risks, NIT Kurukshetra can offer unique opportunities in a growing field.
