Which is the best, PES University Ring Road campus or Electronic City campus?
PES University Ring Road campus vs Electronic City campus — this is a real choice that PES applicants face, and the answer matters for placement and experience.
PES University (Banashankari, Ring Road campus — main campus):
- The original PES campus. Established brand, stronger alumni network in Bangalore's tech ecosystem.
- Placement: Slightly stronger — more companies familiar with "PES University" main campus. Average CSE: ~8-11 LPA.
- Location: South Bangalore (Banashankari/BSK) — good metro connectivity, residential area.
- Programs: BTech (CSE, ECE, ME, EE), MBA, MCA.
PESIT South Campus (Electronic City — different institution name but PES group):
- Technically: PESIT (PES Institute of Technology) South Campus. Different from PES University (different autonomous college).
- Location: Electronic City — great for internships (Infosys, Wipro campuses are literally nearby).
- Affiliated: VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) — degree says "VTU," not PES University.
- Placement: Good for IT mass recruiting due to location advantage, but brand slightly below PES University main.
Verdict:
- PES University (Ring Road) > PESIT South Campus for overall placement quality and brand.
- For internships specifically during your degree: Electronic City location of PESIT is a practical advantage.

PES Ring road campus is better. It has a better location. The electronic city campus is situated far away from the main city. The faculty base of Ring Road is slightly better. The Ring Road campus has better extracurricular and club activities as well. Only 40% of the clubs of RR campus are present at the Electronic campus.
The Electronic City campus is still in its developing period. The first outgoing batch of the campus is 2021-2022.
Other than these factors, there are no such differences between the two campuses. Both follow the same curriculum, academic calendar, and have a centralized placement.

In my opinion, PES University RR campus is definitely one of the best engineering colleges in Karnataka. This is followed closely by RVCE, BMSCE among others. As far as PES University EC Campus is concerned, this is a sister institution that has been built many years down the line.
If you are concerned about placements, let me tell you that both the campuses would be sharing these and the rest would be quite different. But, the PES RR campus also has a better peer group. This is because it is a higher-ranked campus with a much larger alumni base.
Moreover, the Ring Road campus also has quite a few advantages, location-wise, transport wise and even the faculty which seems to be slightly better. Thus, the student crowd you will get here is better since they have higher academic credentials.
PES is a good brand and in either case, it will definitely try to maintain its standards for the Electronic City campus as well.
