How do the placements really compare between DTU B.Tech Computer Engineering and PEC Chandigarh B.Tech Mechanical Engineering?

S
SubtleStream Posted On : April 18th, 2026

First of all, congratulations on securing a spot in CS at such prestigious colleges! Now, let’s dive into the comparison, which is a common dilemma for many from Chandigarh/Punjab. The choice really depends on individual preferences.

Advantages of DTU over PEC:

  • The competitive programming environment is superior, and junior-senior interaction is strong.
  • The location is advantageous, with other competitive colleges like NSUT, IIIT D, etc., nearby, while PEC mainly has Thapar and NIT Jalandhar.
  • If you’re considering a non-tech role, MBA, or UPSC, Delhi offers more opportunities and access to coaching institutes than Chandigarh.
  • Average placements at DTU are slightly better than at PEC.
  • Infrastructure is better at DTU.

Pros of PEC over DTU:

  • Being from Chandigarh, there might be a bias, but I personally prefer Chandigarh for its lush, clean, and green environment. This may not matter to everyone! :P
  • DTU has a larger batch size, meaning PEC CS students will face less competition during placements. DTU allows students from IT, MNC, ECE, and SE to sit for placements.
  • Fees at PEC are slightly lower than at DTU.
  • Faculty quality is not something either college can particularly boast about. Some students from Chandigarh might prefer PEC to stay closer to family.

Should I go for B.Tech Biotechnology in MNNIT Allahabad or B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering in PEC Chandigarh?

L
LunarLobsterRisotto Posted On : April 17th, 2026

In my opinion, MNNIT Allahabad offers a solid experience with great placement opportunities, especially in tech, boasting a high average package of 19.7 LPA and over 90% placement rate, which is impressive. The campus life is vibrant, with numerous clubs and fests, but the faculty can be hit or miss. On the other hand, PEC Chandigarh has a good curriculum aligned with NEP2020 and solid internship opportunities, particularly with tech giants, but the placement scene seems more competitive. Personally, I would lean towards MNNIT Allahabad for its strong placement record and lively campus life, but if you're inclined towards electronics and want to be in a tech-centric environment, PEC could be a better fit. Ultimately, it depends on your career interests and which field excites you more.

Should I go for B.Tech Biotechnology in MNNIT Allahabad or B.Tech Computer Science Engineering in PEC Chandigarh?

T
TwistedTacoTaco Posted On : April 16th, 2026

MNNIT Allahabad offers a solid B.Tech in Biotechnology with strong placement rates and diverse extracurricular activities, but the faculty can be hit or miss. In contrast, PEC Chandigarh's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering shines with excellent internship opportunities, a well-rounded curriculum, and top-tier tech company placements, which is a big advantage if you're into coding and tech jobs.

Both colleges have their strengths, but if you're passionate about tech and want to maximize your job prospects, I'd personally lean towards PEC Chandigarh for its robust industry connections and focused academic environment. However, if you have a keen interest in biotechnology and want a broader educational experience, MNNIT could still be a great choice.

Should I go for B.Tech Mathematics and Computing in DTU or B.Tech Industrial & Production Engineering in PEC Chandigarh?

L
LostSanctuary Posted On : April 13th, 2026

I've looked into both DTU's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing and PEC Chandigarh's B.Tech in Industrial & Production Engineering, and here's my take. DTU has a strong tech focus with a curriculum that aligns well with industry needs and impressive internship opportunities, like offers from companies like Adobe. The campus life is vibrant with active societies and events, which is a plus for overall experience. PEC, on the other hand, has a solid reputation but might not offer the same level of tech-centric placements as DTU. If you’re aiming for a tech-driven career and want a lively campus, DTU would be my pick. But if you're more inclined towards production engineering and prefer a slightly different approach, PEC could be a great fit too.

Should I go for B.Tech Electrical Engineering in DTU or B.Tech Electrical Engineering in PEC Chandigarh?

G
GregariousGlow Posted On : April 4th, 2026

From my research, DTU (Delhi Technological University) seems to have a stronger edge in terms of placements compared to PEC Chandigarh. DTU boasts impressive placement stats, with 96% of students getting placed last year and high packages reaching up to 1.83 crores, while PEC, while still respectable with 80% placements, may not match those top-tier offers just yet. Internships at DTU also appear more varied and accessible, with seniors discussing diverse opportunities, whereas PEC’s data on internships is a bit sparse. If you're aiming for high packages and a wide range of internship options, DTU might be the better choice. However, if you prefer a solid foundation and are considering further studies, PEC could still be a good fit for you.

Should I go for B.Tech Chemical Engineering in MNNIT Allahabad or B.Tech Computer Science Engineering in PEC Chandigarh?

N
NebulousNoodlesWeed Posted On : April 1st, 2026

MNNIT Allahabad's B.Tech in Chemical Engineering offers a solid foundation for core industries like petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals, but the internship opportunities are limited and competitive, with only 8 out of 58 students landing core internships. In contrast, PEC Chandigarh's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering opens doors to a wider range of tech companies, including giants like Goldman Sachs and Oracle, making it more favorable for placements and high packages. Given the current trends, if you are inclined towards tech and coding, PEC Chandigarh provides better job prospects and a more competitive edge in the job market, while MNNIT is a good choice if you want to focus on core chemical industries.

How do the placements really compare between MNNIT Allahabad B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering and PEC Chandigarh B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering?

V
VelvetVanilla Posted On : March 30th, 2026

MNNIT Allahabad and PEC Chandigarh both offer solid B.Tech programs in Electronics & Communication Engineering, but when it comes to fees and ROI, MNNIT shines brighter. MNNIT has a strong placement record with over 95% of students placed, and companies like Microsoft and Amazon frequently recruit from there, offering impressive stipends for internships. While PEC also has good placements, MNNIT's scholarship options for lower middle-class families make it a more financially savvy choice, allowing students to study with minimal financial burden.

If you're looking for better placement opportunities and financial support, MNNIT Allahabad is the smarter pick, whereas PEC might suit those who prefer its unique campus culture and slightly different academic environment.

Should I go for B.Tech Automotive Engineering in DTU or B.Tech (Data Sciences) in PEC Chandigarh?

S
SerendipitySeeker Posted On : March 12th, 2026

Thank you for the ask to answer. I am a student of DTU and pursuing Automotive Engineering. In July, I will be sitting for placements, so I can provide you with a perspective on this choice. Firstly, it's important to note that Automotive Engineering is closely related to Mechanical Engineering, with about 80 percent of the syllabus being similar. Additionally, we study 5 to 6 subjects related to Production and Industrial Engineering. During placements, around 70 percent of the companies that recruit for Mechanical Engineering also consider Automotive Engineering students. This can be seen as a drawback since our branch is often perceived as similar to Mechanical Engineering due to the name change. DTU offers ample research opportunities and co-curricular activities. I would suggest you consider your confidence in scoring better in your chosen field. If you believe you can excel, then go for it; otherwise, it might be worth exploring other options.
