TNAU UG/UG Diploma Admission 2026 Begins

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has opened online applications for undergraduate and diploma programs for the 2026-2027 academic year. Candidates must apply exclusively through the official portal at tnau.ucanapply.com before the deadline of June 8, 2026.

The application fee is Rs. 200 for general candidates and Rs. 100 for SC, SCA, and ST category students. Printed applications are not accepted, and all submissions must be completed online only.

TNAU offers 14 undergraduate degree programs and three diploma programs across constituent and affiliated colleges throughout Tamil Nadu. The university is recognized as one of India's premier agricultural institutions by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

Admission to these programs provides students with quality education in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, food technology, biotechnology, and agricultural engineering. The programs prepare students for careers in agricultural research, farming, agribusiness, and allied sectors.

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination (HSC or equivalent) with required subjects. For B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, and Sericulture, students should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

For B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering), Mathematics is compulsory along with Physics and Chemistry. Candidates from vocational streams who studied Biology and Agricultural Practices are also eligible for specific programs. The maximum age limit is 21 years as of July 1, 2026, with no age restriction for SC, SCA, and ST candidates.

Diploma applicants must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent qualification. For Diploma in Agriculture and Horticulture, candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the academic stream.

For Diploma in Agricultural Engineering, Mathematics is mandatory along with Physics and Chemistry. Vocational stream candidates who studied Biology and Agricultural Practices are also eligible. The maximum age limit is 21 years as of July 1, 2026, with relaxation for SC, SCA, and ST categories.

Candidates must upload scanned copies of mark sheets showing HSC/equivalent exam marks, conduct certificate from the last educational institution, transfer certificate, and community certificate (if applicable).

Candidates who have not studied in Tamil Nadu should submit a Certificate of Permanent Residence in Tamil Nadu. A physical fitness certificate from a Government Medical Officer must be produced at the time of admission. All original documents must be presented during certificate verification at the respective institute on the prescribed date.

What’s Next for Students

After the application deadline, TNAU will publish merit lists based on qualifying examination marks. Shortlisted candidates will receive notifications via email and SMS to participate in online counselling. During counselling, candidates can select their preferred degree program and college.

A non-refundable counselling fee of Rs. 200 (Rs. 100 for SC/SCA/ST) must be paid at the time of counselling. Selected candidates will then report to their allotted colleges for admission formalities and payment of semester fees. Candidates should regularly check the official website tnau.ucanapply.com for updates on merit lists, counselling dates, and admission notifications.
