Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has opened applications for the Four Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP), Postgraduate (PG) programmes and the Design Your Degree (DYD) programme for the academic year 2026-27 on the official admission portal at admission.smvdu.ac.in. The last date to submit the online application form is June 30, 2026. Candidates can register and apply through the Samarth portal at smvduadm.samarth.edu.in.

SMVDU is a centrally funded technical institution located in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. The university offers programmes across engineering, sciences, humanities, management and design.

SMVDU 2026 Programmes on Offer

The university has invited applications for three broad streams. Each stream covers multiple disciplines and specialisations.

• FYUP: B.Sc. in Biotechnology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. B.B.A. in Business Administration. B.A. in Dogri, English, Economics, Hindi and Philosophy.
• Design Your Degree (DYD): Students pick a major after the second year. Specialisations include Biotechnology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Dogri, English, Economics, Hindi, Mathematics, Philosophy and Physics.
• PG Programmes: M.Tech, M.Sc, M.A. and M.B.A. across multiple specialisations.

SMVDU 2026 Selection Process

Admission to the FYUP programmes is merit-based. The university will use CUET-UG 2025 scores for shortlisting FYUP candidates. The Design Your Degree programme also follows merit-based selection.

For M.Tech, admission is conducted through the CCMT 2026 counselling platform. M.Sc and M.A. admissions follow merit. M.B.A. shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview after the merit list is published.

The Design Your Degree programme is built for students who want flexibility. Candidates do not need to lock a major at the time of admission.
