DMS, IIT Delhi announces shortlisted candidates for PhD Management Studies 2025; test and interview scheduled for December 9-10.

The Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi (DMS) has officially released the list of shortlisted candidates for its PhD programme in Management Studies for the 2025 admission cycle. The next stage for applicants is a combined written test and personal interview, which will take place on December 9 and 10, 2025.
Candidates are advised to check the department’s website for full details and the shortlist document. This announcement marks a crucial step in the admission timeline for Doctoral aspirants.
For eligibility, full-time applicants in the General and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) categories must meet the minimum academic requirements set by IIT Delhi. Candidates holding an M.Tech, M.E or M.D degree must have secured at least 60% marks or a 6.00 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
Those applying with an M.Sc, M.A, MBA or MBBS qualification must also meet the same minimum score and additionally have a valid qualification in a recognised national-level exam such as GATE, CSIR-UGC NET, ICAR, ICMR, or DST-INSPIRE.

Applicants with only a B.E or B.Tech degree need at least 75% marks or a 7.50 CGPA, along with the mandatory national exam qualification. For SC/ST/PH categories the percentages are lower (55% or 5.50 CGPA etc.).
Shortlisted candidates will appear for a combined written test and personal interview. The written test will run for 60 minutes and consist of descriptive-type questions aimed at assessing subject knowledge in management specialisations and written communication skills. The personal interview will evaluate communication skills, academic disposition, aptitude for management research and relevant co-curricular activities.
If you are provisionally selected, you will need to complete the coursework requirement (9 credits for candidates with prior MTech/MBA/MPhil; 18 credits for BTech/other master’s degree holders) followed by a comprehensive written & oral exam, presentation of research proposal, research work, submission of thesis synopsis and final thesis defense. The normal duration of the programme is 4 years (with option to complete in 3 years) and a maximum of 7 years total.
