What is MDUCEE 2026?
The Maharshi Dayanand University Common Entrance Exam (MDUCEE) is a state-level postgraduate entrance exam conducted by Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, Haryana. MDU conducts this exam every year to provide a merit-based entry into PG science and professional programs across multiple Haryana state universities. MDUCEE 2026 was conducted in offline (pen-and-paper / OMR-based) mode from June 10 to June 16, 2026.
MDU Rohtak, established in 1976 under the Haryana State Legislature Act, is one of the oldest and most recognized teaching and affiliating universities in Haryana. It serves as the nodal university for MDUCEE and coordinates admissions to seven participating state universities through a common merit list and counselling process. You only need to appear for one MDUCEE paper to compete for admission across all seven universities in your subject group.
The question papers are bilingual (English and Hindi) and are set at UG level in the relevant subject. Separate papers are conducted for each subject group: Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Forensic Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Food Technology. You appear only for the paper matching your intended PG program.

Subject-Wise Paper Groups in MDUCEE 2026
MDUCEE 2026 is not a single common paper for all candidates. Separate papers are conducted for each subject group. You appear only in the paper matching the program you want to join. Each paper has 100 questions from UG-level topics in that subject.
| Paper Group | Programs Covered | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Life Sciences | M.Sc Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences | 75 minutes |
| Mathematics | M.Sc Mathematics, M.Sc Applied Mathematics | 75 minutes |
| Physics | M.Sc Physics, M.Sc Electronics | 75 minutes |
| Chemistry | M.Sc Chemistry, M.Sc Industrial Chemistry | 75 minutes |
| Forensic Sciences | M.Sc Forensic Sciences | 90 minutes |
| Pharmaceutical Sciences | M.Pharm | 75 minutes |
| Food Technology | M.Sc Food Technology, M.Sc Food Science and Technology | 75 minutes |
You receive one question booklet and one OMR answer sheet in the exam hall. Darken the correct bubble completely on the OMR using a blue or black ballpoint pen. Multiple marks or overwriting on the OMR may result in that answer being rejected by the scanner.

MDUCEE 2026 Cutoff
The MDUCEE 2026 cutoff is the minimum score at which seats were filled in each program and category during counselling. Program-wise and category-wise cutoffs for MDUCEE 2026 will be finalized and published on the official portal during the counselling rounds, which are currently ongoing. The data below is based on previous year (2024 and 2025) closing scores and serves as a reference for self-assessment.
The MDUCEE 2026 final cutoff has not been published. The data below reflects previous year closing scores and is for reference only. Actual 2026 cutoffs will depend on the June cycle score distribution, total candidates, and available seats.
Expected MDUCEE 2026 Cutoff — Based on Previous Year Trends
| Program | General / AIO (Expected) | OBC / BC (Expected) | SC (Expected) |
|---|---|---|---|
| M.Sc Life Sciences | 62-68 marks | 52-62 marks | 28-38 marks |

| M.Pharm | 62-70 marks | 52-62 marks | 28-38 marks |
Factors That Affect MDUCEE 2026 Cutoff
- No negative marking in 2026: Since MDUCEE 2026 has no penalty for wrong answers, average scores in the June cycle may be slightly higher than in 2025, which could push the cutoff up modestly for some programs.
- Number of applicants: More candidates competing for the same seats raises competition and typically raises the cutoff.
- Available seats: If total seat intake increases, the cutoff may fall slightly.
- Category: SC / ST and OBC candidates have lower cutoffs than General due to reservation. In 2024, SC cutoffs for M.Sc Mathematics were as low as 11 marks.
- University preference: Cutoffs for MDU Rohtak main campus departments are typically higher than for other participating universities, as most candidates prefer Rohtak as their first choice.
MDUCEE 2026 Marks vs Rank
The MDUCEE 2026 marks vs rank data helps you estimate your expected rank based on the score you obtained in the June cycle. Since MDUCEE 2026 has no negative marking (unlike 2025), average scores may be slightly higher. The rank estimates below are based on previous year trends and are for reference only — the official merit list with accurate ranks was published on mduadmission.samarth.edu.in around June 24-25, 2026.
| Score Range (Out of 100) | Expected Rank (Approx.) | Admission Outlook |
|---|---|---|
| 85 and above | Top 10-20 ranks | Very high chance for any program at MDU Rohtak campus |
| 75-84 | Rank 20-60 | Good chance for top programs at major participating universities |
| 65-74 | Rank 60-150 | Likely to get admission in most programs in the common pool |
| 55-64 | Rank 150-300 | Admission likely, but first-choice program or university may not be available |
| 45-54 | Rank 300-500 | Depends on seat availability and category; reserved category candidates have better odds |
| Below 45 | Rank 500 and above | Admission possible for SC / ST / OBC candidates through reservation roster |
Your rank is computed separately within your paper group (Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, etc.) — not across all MDUCEE 2026 candidates. The Life Sciences pool is typically the largest. The same score gives a better rank in a smaller-pool group like Mathematics or Physics than in Life Sciences.
MDUCEE 2026 Counselling Process
MDUCEE 2026 counselling for the June cycle started on June 25, 2026 and is expected to run through approximately July 10, 2026 in 4 rounds — 3 online rounds and 1 physical spot round for seats still vacant after the online rounds. All candidates who qualified the June cycle exam and appear on the merit list should register for counselling immediately.
MDUCEE 2026 Counselling Rounds

| Round 4 — Physical / Spot Round | Physical (at MDU Rohtak) | July 2026 (for vacant seats only) |
Step-by-Step MDUCEE 2026 Counselling Process
- Step 1 — Register for Counselling: Visit mduadmission.samarth.edu.in and register for MDUCEE 2026 counselling. Pay the counselling registration fee of ₹600 online. Only candidates who appear on the MDUCEE 2026 merit list are eligible to register.
- Step 2 — Fill Program and University Preferences: Fill your preferred programs and universities in order of priority. List all combinations you are willing to accept to improve your chances. Think carefully about the order — the system allots your highest-ranked available preference.
- Step 3 — Lock Preferences: Lock your preferences before the round deadline. After locking, preferences cannot be changed. Locked preferences are used for seat allotment.
- Step 4 — Seat Allotment: MDU allots seats based on merit rank, category, locked preferences, and available seats. The result is published on the portal at the scheduled time for each round.
- Step 5 — Accept and Pay Seat Confirmation Fee: If allotted a seat, pay the seat confirmation fee (₹5,000 or the course fee, whichever is lower) within the deadline. Non-payment leads to automatic cancellation of the allotted seat.
- Step 6 — Document Verification: Report to the allotted university with all original and photocopied documents on the specified date. Failure to report on time results in seat cancellation even after fee payment.
Candidates not allotted a seat in Round 1 remain eligible for Rounds 2, 3, and 4 without needing to re-register. Do not withdraw from the pool if you do not get your preferred program in Round 1 — upgrading is possible in later rounds.

MDUCEE 2026 Preparation Tips
If you are preparing for the July 2026 MDUCEE cycle (July 13-17, 2026) or future cycles, these preparation tips will help you score well in the 100-mark, 75-minute offline test.
- Focus on NCERT and standard UG textbooks first: MDUCEE questions are set at UG level. Your standard UG textbooks — such as Campbell Biology for Life Sciences, Atkins for Physical Chemistry, or Griffiths for Physics — are the most important foundation. For Life Sciences, NCERT books are especially helpful as many MCQs are directly NCERT-based.
- Solve previous year MDUCEE question papers: Papers from 2021 to 2025 give you a clear picture of difficulty level, topic weightage, and question style. Certain topics repeat every year — these are your high-priority areas. Previous year papers are available on the official MDU website at mdu.ac.in.
- Attempt all 100 questions — no negative marking in 2026: Since MDUCEE 2026 has no penalty for wrong answers, never leave any question blank. Even a random guess has a 25% chance of being correct. In 2025 with -0.25 negative marking, leaving blanks was sometimes strategic — but not in 2026. Every unattempted question is a missed scoring opportunity.
- Practice speed — 45 seconds per question on average: You have 75 minutes for 100 questions, which works out to 45 seconds per question on average. Practice MCQs regularly under timed conditions to build the habit of moving quickly through known topics and spending extra time only on difficult ones.
- Make topic-wise revision notes: Create short notes for each topic — definitions, key formulas, important reactions, and commonly tested processes. These notes are especially valuable for last-week revision before the exam.
- Daily MCQ practice: Solve at least 50 to 100 MCQs every day during your preparation period. Start with topic-wise question banks, then shift to full-length mixed mock papers in the last two weeks before the exam.
- Revise in the final week, not new topics: Do not start any new topics in the last week before the exam. Revise your notes, solve full-length mock tests, and focus extra time on areas where you consistently make errors.
