Admission to the college is through the MHT CET exam and a CAP round, followed by a counseling-based enrollment process. Notably, the institution is the sole government college offering a B.Tech in Mining Engineering aligned with the reviewer's JEE Main scores. Faculty members are highly qualified, with most having degrees from IITs or NITs and over half holding postgraduate qualifications. Despite their expertise, some faculty members have difficulty communicating complex concepts.

The college enforces a strict, school-like environment with limited extracurricular activities.
