JECRCU BA LLB FAQs
Ques. Is CLAT mandatory for admission to BA LLB at JECRC University School of Law, or can I apply without it?
Ans. CLAT is not strictly mandatory for admission to the BA LLB programme at JECRC University. The university accepts both CLAT-qualified candidates (who go through the CLAT counselling process) and direct applicants who have not appeared for CLAT. Direct applicants are required to qualify the university's Personal Interview (PI) process. However, preference is given to candidates with a valid CLAT 2026 score, so having a CLAT score does improve your chances of admission and may also help in scholarship consideration.
Ques. What specialisations are available in the BA LLB programme, and do I need to choose one at the time of admission?
Ans. The BA LLB {Hons.} programme at JECRC University School of Law offers three specialisations: Corporate Law, Intellectual Property Law, and Criminal Law. Typically, specialisation choices are made during the course of the programme rather than at the time of admission. The curriculum is designed to cover all three areas broadly, with deeper focus in the chosen specialisation in the later semesters. Students are advised to confirm the exact semester of specialisation selection with the admissions office.
Ques. How many internships are required during the BA LLB programme, and does the university help arrange them?
Ans. Internships are mandatory from Semester 2 through Semester 10, meaning students are required to complete a total of 9 internships over the course of the 5-year programme. The university actively facilitates internship placements at the Supreme Court, High Courts, District and Session Courts, Law Commission of India, various government ministries, Human Rights Commissions, law firms, banks, insurance companies, and MNCs. Past students have interned at organisations such as J Sagar and Associates, Competition Commission of India, National Human Rights Commission, Samsung, EY, and Accenture, among others.
Ques. What is the hostel availability and fee structure for BA LLB students at JECRC University?

Ques. Can I get a scholarship if I scored between 70-85% in my 12th boards? What are the conditions to retain it?
Ans. Yes, students who scored between 70% and 84.99% in their 10+2 examinations are eligible for a Merit Scholarship of 15% on the tuition fee, which amounts to Rs. 19,950 per annum. Students with 85% and above receive a 25% scholarship (Rs. 33,250 per annum). Even a CGPA of 7.99 or attendance of exactly 75% (not above) will result in withdrawal of the scholarship, and no relaxation is granted.
