Admission to the college is based on JEE exam ranks. The college initially had an intake of 60 undergraduate students, which grew to 120 by 2007. In 2012, an M.Tech course in Electronics and Communication was introduced for 18 students annually. The faculty-student ratio is about 1:60, with faculty members being supportive and approachable, notably Dr. Nibedita Pati and Dr. Rizwan Khan. Despite affordable overall fees, students face fines of 50,000 to 60,000 INR annually and a high bus fee of 15,000 INR.
Course fees for the Electronics and Telecommunications branch are around 108,000 INR, with first-year fees at 118,000 INR. Merit-based discounts are offered, such as a 40% tuition discount for students with an average of 80% in 10th or 12th grades. Scholarships like Medhabriti, Pragati, and Prerna, offering 10,000 INR annually, are available, alongside additional financial aids for SC, ST, and OBC students. The total cost, including hostel fees, is about 1.75 lakhs INR.
Trident College boasts strong placement records, with over 100 companies visiting annually, including TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, and PayPal. In 2009, TCS hired 60 students with packages of 3.16 LPA. By 2016, recruiters increased to 70. Electronics and Telecommunications graduates typically secure packages of 4-5 LPA, with the highest reaching 24 LPA. Around 75% of students are placed, mainly in their final year. Pre-placement activities start from the 6th semester, with recruiters such as Capgemini and Marquee Semiconductor participating.
Internships are facilitated by the Training & Placement department, encouraging students with a CGPA above 6-7 to pursue software sector placements.
