NIFT 2026 Spot Round is open to all students with a valid NIFT 2026 Composite Merit Rank (CMR) — including those who were absent from earlier counselling rounds — with online registration open from July 19 to 22, 2026, seat allotment on July 24, and physical reporting at the allotted campus by July 29, 2026.
The Spot Round is the final opportunity to secure a seat in NIFT undergraduate and postgraduate programmes after all regular counselling rounds close. Students registering for the first time must pay a non-refundable participation fee of Rs. 5,000 before filling programme choices on the portal.
- Spot Round Registration: July 19–22, 2026 — complete the process online at nift.admissions.nic.in.
- Seat Allotment: July 24, 2026; physical reporting at allotted NIFT campus by July 29, 2026.
- All students with a valid NIFT 2026 rank are eligible — including those who missed earlier counselling rounds.
- Category upgradation for existing allottees is also processed in the Spot Round.
- New registrants must pay a non-refundable participation fee of Rs. 5,000 before filling choices.

Students who CAN participate:
- Students with a valid NIFT 2026 Composite Merit Rank (CMR) in any programme category.

Students who CANNOT participate:
- Students declared ineligible during document verification in any earlier NIFT 2026 round — whether due to cut-off marks, age criteria, or any other valid reason specified by NIFT.
- Students who do not hold a valid NIFT 2026 CMR — the Spot Round does not entertain fresh applications from those who did not appear in the NIFT 2026 entrance exam.
