Chandigarh University has marked another major academic achievement through its University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS). In a notable national-level accomplishment, 13 final-year law students from UILS have been selected for the Internship Programme of the Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India.
Out of 50 students chosen from across India, 13 belong to Chandigarh University’s UILS. This makes the university one of the leading contributors to the internship programme among law institutes in the country.
The achievement highlights the strong academic foundation, practical legal training, and career-focused learning environment provided by UILS. It also reflects the university’s continued focus on preparing students for competitive professional opportunities in the legal field.
The Ministry of Law & Justice Internship Programme is regarded as one of the most valuable learning opportunities for aspiring legal professionals. It gives selected students exposure to policy-making, legislative drafting, constitutional matters, legal research, and the functioning of India’s legal system. During the internship, students also get the opportunity to interact with senior officials and experienced legal experts.
The success of UILS students reflects the institute’s emphasis on experiential learning along with classroom education. Students are regularly encouraged to participate in moot court competitions, legal aid activities, research projects, internships, and interactions with established professionals from the legal sector. These initiatives help them build analytical, advocacy, research, and problem-solving skills required for a successful legal career.
Faculty members at UILS also played an important role in guiding and mentoring the selected students. Their continuous academic support and preparation helped students perform well in a competitive national-level selection process.
University officials congratulated the selected students and described the achievement as a proud moment for the Chandigarh University community. They said the selection not only recognizes the hard work and talent of the students but also strengthens the reputation of the university’s law education.
Over the years, Chandigarh University has earned recognition for its industry-oriented academic programmes, practical learning approach, international collaborations, and strong career outcomes across various disciplines. Its law programmes are designed to bridge the gap between theoretical legal education and the practical demands of the legal profession.
With this achievement, Chandigarh University continues to encourage future legal professionals through academic excellence, practical exposure, and a strong professional development ecosystem.
