• Whatsapp groups and seniors are the best way to find your housing, rent is around $600-$1000 per month depending on sharing or renting a bedroom for yourself.

• I think I'd joined a Whatsapp group from a Telegram group. Then I met some folks, and we decided apartments online before moving. 2B1B apartment: $1650 per month + utilities (total ~$1800 for the entire apartment per month).
• Facilities included: Centralized AC/Heater system and dishwasher (these 2 are standard in every US apt), Gas stove, paid laundry washer/dryer in each floor, paid parking

• I had friends. Monthly rent will be around $1000. The apartment will be unfurnished. But you'll have a kitchen, bathrooms and bedroom.

• I found my off-campus accommodation by searching through websites like Zillow and Facebook groups, as well as recommendations from senior

• My place is 10 mins walking from my school and most of the Indian students stay near by to campus as they are the safest places which are also guarded by UTPD Cars 24/7

• I found my accommodation from a friend whom I met him in a Whatsapp group. Some of my friends found their accommodation through Facebook groups and seniors.
• Monthly rent is $580 that includes free wifi, pool, gym, bbq and paid laundry. Based on my challenges I would recommend future students to get connected with seniors via linkedin and join as many whatsapp groups as possible to find a better accommodation.
• Most of the Indian students stay very close to campus (Duval villas, Tanglewood, Lantana etc) and my accommodation (Duval villas) is 1.5 mile far from campus.

• I found my accommodation through seniors. But one can also refer to apps like realtor, zillio. These app work better.
• My accommodation was of subpar standard and involved significant security threat. Rent was $2100 for 3 bed room unit ($700 each) plus the utilities. It is a basic housing with air conditioning fridge and dishwasher.
• US has massive pest infestation. Please use certified apps to find any property and check reviews first. Do not trust the realtor or anyone blindly since they get referral bonus for each successful referral.
• My accommodation was 15 min walking from McCombs. Indian students stay based on their college. McCombs students stay scattered in an around the McCombs building

My overall experience here has been great. I have learnt a lot in my program and I have gotten a lot of opportunities to network with people from different countries.

My overall college experience has been very very good. It is expensive to live and enjoy Austin, TX but it is a great city compared to other parts of USA. Good experience in academics and also social life.

It was a great experience for academics and I made a lot of memories and new lifelong friends.
