EMLYON MiM Application Deadlines 2026-27
EMLYON operates a rolling admissions calendar for the MiM-Grande Ecole. According to the official website, applications for the 2026-27 academic year opened on October 1, 2025 and continue until cohort capacity is reached. The school explicitly states it may close applications earlier when all seats fill.
| Pathway | Deadline window | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Direct International Admission Sep 2026 | Rolling since October 1, 2025; closes when seats fill | Active (subject to availability) |
| Join a School in France Sep 2026 | October 2025 to June 2026 (subject to availability) | Active |
| Early Bird Scholarship (1st session) | First application session of the cycle | 10% tuition reduction |
| Early Bird Scholarship (2nd session) | Second application session of the cycle | 5% tuition reduction |
Note:
- EMLYON does not publish round-by-round deadline dates on its public MiM page. The school operates rolling reviews
- Once admitted, applicants must sign the enrollment form on the Makersboard platform and pay the €3,500 non-refundable tuition deposit within 10 calendar days of admission
- The Excellence Scholarship requires GMAT, GMAT Focus, GRE, or TAGE MAGE/emMET scores. The free emlyon online management test (emMET) does not qualify for the Excellence Scholarship
- Standardised test validity (per the official website): GMAT and GRE 5 years; TAGE MAGE 2 years; CAT 1 year; English tests 2 years
Tip: The rolling-admissions structure rewards early applicants twice. First, the Early Bird Scholarship (10% tuition reduction for first-session applicants, 5% for second-session) is awarded purely based on submission timing per the official website. Second, popular tracks (Strategy Consulting, Finance, Accounting & Control) tend to fill seats earlier in the cycle. Indian applicants who lock test scores by November or December gain access to both the discount and the better track availability.

EMLYON MiM Employment Outcomes Class of 2024 (per the official website)
The school's 2025 insertion survey reports the following placement metrics for the Class of 2024:
- 100% of graduates find a job within 6 months of graduation
- 93% net employment rate at 3 months post-graduation
- 82% of graduates secure a job before the end of the program
- Average starting salary: €59,000 (~₹65.74 Lakhs)
- Job location split: 72% France, 28% international across approximately 40 countries
- Geographic distribution of international placements: 94% Europe, 2% Asia, 2% Africa/Middle East, 2% America
- 2024 graduation rate: 92.67%
Key Insight: Past Indian admit profiles to top French Grande Écoles cluster around GMAT 660 to 720 with strong work experience or research credentials, with the upper end of that band tracking applicants who also receive Excellence Scholarship offers per the official website's published thresholds. The school evaluates applications holistically, so a GMAT in the lower-700s with multi-internship work experience and a clear "why EMLYON" narrative typically outperforms a 730+ GMAT with a generic application file.
EMLYON Multi-Test Admission Pathway for Indian Students
EMLYON accepts six standardised test options for the MiM application per the official website, including the school's own free internal management test. This flexibility is structurally meaningful for Indian applicants who may not have current GMAT or GRE scores.
Accepted Standardised Tests for EMLYON MiM
| Test | Validity (per the official website) | Excellence Scholarship eligibility (per the official website) |
|---|---|---|
| GMAT | 5 years | Yes; 700+ for 10%, 650+ for 5% |
| GMAT Focus | 5 years | Yes; 645+ for 10%, 595+ for 5% |
| GRE | 5 years | Yes; equivalent thresholds |
| TAGE MAGE | 2 years | Yes; 400+ for 10%, 360+ for 5% |
| CAT (Indian applicants only) | 1 year | Specific CAT thresholds not published on the official website |
| emlyon online management test (emMET) | Per cycle | Does not qualify for the Excellence Scholarship per the official website |
Strategic Test Selection for Indian Applicants
- For Excellence Scholarship access: GMAT 700+ (or GMAT Focus 645+, GRE equivalent, TAGE MAGE/emMET 400+) qualifies for the 10% first-year tuition reduction. The 5% tier requires GMAT 650+, GMAT Focus 595+, GRE equivalent, or TAGE MAGE/emMET 360+ per the official website
- For Indian-specific pathway: CAT scores from the current academic cycle are accepted exclusively for Indian applicants per the official website. CAT validity is 1 year, shorter than GMAT and GRE's 5-year validity
- For limited preparation time: the free emlyon online management test (emMET) is available directly through the applicant dashboard per the official website. This test does not qualify for the Excellence Scholarship
CAT Score Acceptance at EMLYON
EMLYON's official MiM admissions page on the official website states applicants may submit "Scores from GMAT, GRE, TAGE MAGE (or CAT for students from India only), or you can take our emlyon online management test." This is verified for EMLYON specifically. Indian applicants comparing French Grande Écoles should verify each school's CAT acceptance against the school's own current admissions page rather than assuming uniform acceptance across French business schools.
CAT scores must be from the current academic cycle (1-year validity per the official website). Older CAT scores are not accepted. The school does not publish a specific CAT cutoff on its public MiM admissions page. Indian applicants should contact admissions for the current evaluation criteria.
Direct International vs Join a School in France Pathways
EMLYON offers two admission pathways for international applicants holding non-French degrees, per the official website. Direct International Admission is school-specific. Join a School in France is a consortium application covering five French business schools (HEC Paris, ESCP, EMLYON, SKEMA, Audencia).
Pathway Comparison (per the official website)
| Decision factor | Direct International | Join a School in France |
|---|---|---|
| Schools accessible | EMLYON only | EMLYON + HEC Paris + ESCP + SKEMA + Audencia (5 schools) |
| Application fee | €140 (~₹15,599) | €250 (~₹27,855), deducted from overall tuition fees upon admission |
| Selection process | Application file + 1.5-hour digital tests | Common consortium evaluation + 30-minute interview in English |
| Interview format | Deferred video interview (asynchronous, no live) | Live 30-minute English interview at consortium partner centres worldwide or remote |
| Selectivity (consortium) | School-specific seat availability | ~1 in 7 applicants admitted across consortium per the official website |
| Documents required | CV, transcripts, degree, passport, test scores, English proof, application fee | Same plus 2 letters of recommendation (academic or professional), ID/headshot photo, motivation essays of 500 characters each |
Strategic Implications for Indian Applicants
- Cost difference: Direct International saves €110 versus Join a School in France. The consortium fee is deducted from overall tuition fees upon admission to any of the 5 schools per the official website
- School comparison: Indian applicants undecided between top French Grande Écoles benefit from the consortium's single-application multi-school evaluation
- Decision speed: Direct International produces faster school-specific decisions because the consortium operates a unified evaluation cycle
Key Insight: The Join a School in France consortium evaluation is described by the official website as "highly selective, and only an average one applicant out of 7 will have the opportunity to join the Master in Management program." Indian applicants applying via this pathway should prepare a single set of strong application materials that work across all five schools rather than tailoring per-school narratives. The consortium evaluation is profile-driven; applicants who list overly narrow school preference risk lower rankings during placement matching.
EMLYON Application Process and Digital Tests
EMLYON's Direct International application uses a structured digital evaluation process. The full digital test session takes 1.5 hours per the official website.
Direct International Application Components (per the official website)
- Online application form on the EMLYON applicant dashboard
- Updated CV (resume) demonstrating academic and professional progression
- Transcript of records of bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Certified copy of degree (if obtained) or progress report
- Certified copy of passport or birth certificate
- Standardised test score: GMAT, GMAT Focus, GRE, TAGE MAGE, CAT (Indian only), or take the free emlyon online management test
- English proficiency: TOEIC, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, or Cambridge English (with waiver conditions specified by the official website)
- Application fee of €140 paid by credit card
- 1.5-hour digital test session (online with webcam)
- Admissions board review
- Decision notification on Makersboard platform
- 10 calendar days to confirm enrollment with €3,500 deposit
The EMLYON 1.5-hour Digital Test Components and Coefficients (per the official website)
| Component | Coefficient | Format (per the official website) |
|---|---|---|
| Application credentials evaluation | 3 | Academic transcripts and test scores |
| Online "mock-up situation" | 1 | Cognitive plus behavioral. 2 meetings with avatars; choice-based answers |
| Deferred video interview | 5 | 15-second read time per question. Oral video answers; cannot pause or restart once started |
| Cognitive tests | 1 | Cognitive exercises and professional role-playing scenarios |
The video interview is the highest-weighted component (coefficient 5 per the official website). The format does not allow re-recording. Preparation is critical.
Test Environment Requirements (per the official website)
- Computer with a working webcam and a stable wifi connection
- Test must be taken alone in a quiet environment
- Test can only be taken once
- Practice resources are available. The official website provides preparation guidance via video
Note: The 15-second read window before each video answer is the format detail that catches first-time applicants. The interview cannot be paused or restarted once it begins per the official website. Past applicants report that practising with similar asynchronous video tools (using mock prompts and a stopwatch for the 15-second read) is more useful than rehearsing scripted answers, because the questions are not pre-published. Treat the test environment requirement (alone, quiet, stable wifi) seriously: ambient noise picked up by the webcam mic counts as part of the recording and cannot be re-done.
Join a School in France Application Components (per the official website)
- Standardised test scores (same options as Direct International)
- English test scores (with same waiver conditions)
- Transcript of records and certified degree copy
- Resume
- ID/headshot photo
- Certified passport copy
- 2 letters of recommendation (academic or professional)
- Motivation essay questions of 500 characters each
- Application fee €250
- 30-minute English interview at Join a School in France partner centres worldwide, or remotely as a last resort
EMLYON Eligibility Criteria for Indian Students

Applicants should verify program-specific eligibility on the official website directly.
English Proficiency Waiver Conditions
EMLYON exempts applicants from English testing in three cases as per the official website:
- Native English speakers
- Applicants holding a degree from a program fully taught in English in the past three years (full Bachelor's Degree in English)
- Applicants who have spent three academic years in a program fully taught in English in the past three years
Indian applicants whose bachelor's degree was fully taught in English typically qualify under the second criterion. Submit a medium-of-instruction letter from the university registrar. Specific waiver eligibility should be confirmed with EMLYON Admissions before relying on it.
Note: The 3-year recency window in the waiver conditions matters for Indian applicants who completed their bachelor's more than 3 years ago and have been working in non-English settings since. The waiver applies to "the past three years"; applicants outside that window submit IELTS, TOEFL iBT, TOEIC, or Cambridge English regardless of how their bachelor's was taught. Plan English testing 2 to 3 months before application submission if the recency window does not cover your bachelor's degree.
EMLYON Tuition Fees and Excellence Scholarship Structure
The EMLYON MiM tuition for the 2026-27 academic year is €22,000 per year (₹24.51 Lakhs) as per the official website. The breakdown includes €20,000 base tuition plus €1,500 management overheads plus €500 fee services per year.
Tuition Components (per the official website)
| Component | Annual amount (EUR) | 2-year total (EUR) |
|---|---|---|
| Tuition fees | €20,000 | €40,000 |
| Management overheads | €1,500 | €3,000 |
| Fee services | €500 | €1,000 |
| Total per year and 2-year program | €22,000 | €44,000 |
| Optional gap year (if elected) | (none) | €2,000 (added to total) |
| Customized pathway (if elected) | (none) | €500 (added to total) |
What tuition includes per the official website:
- Tuition fees for the program
- Enrollment and administrative fees

- Optional courses or certifications
- Accommodation and travel expenses related to the program or work placement
Cost of Living in Lyon (per the official website)
EMLYON publishes a tentative monthly budget for Lyon of around €1,000 to €1,200 per month. The breakdown per the official website:
- Rent: €500 to €600 (approximately)
- Charges (electricity, gas, internet, water): around €130
- Transportation: €25 (under 25 years old)
- Food: €200 to €250
- Books, photocopies: around €40
- Miscellaneous: €100
- Mobile phone: prepaid phone cards from €5 to €20
- Leisure: €100
Note: The official website states these are tentative budgets which may vary depending on accommodation type and personal choices.
Key Insight: Past Indian admits report meaningful cost savings by securing CROUS residence accommodation rather than private studio rentals. CROUS residences typically run between €245 and €400 per month versus €500 to €600 for private studios in central Lyon. Combined with the under-25 transport pass at €25 monthly, the actual cost-of-living for budget-conscious students can land between €600 and €800 monthly rather than the school's €1,000 to €1,200 reference range. CROUS housing applications are managed separately from EMLYON admission and should be initiated immediately after admission confirmation, not after arrival.

The Finance Track is delivered in English and accessible to applicants without French language proficiency. The Strategy Consulting Track is delivered in French and requires French fluency.
Key Insight: Past Indian admits targeting consulting careers in France often realise late that the Strategy Consulting Track preparation is in French only per the official website. Applicants without French B2 fluency at admission either invest 12 to 18 months in French acquisition during the program, or pivot to the English Finance Track and target investment banking or corporate finance roles instead. Indian admits without French language background who target French-market consulting should plan for intensive French study from Year 1.
Alumni Network
- 48,000 alumni in 130+ countries
- 250+ companies visit campus annually for recruitment events
- FT 2025 ranking: #2 in France for alumni network satisfaction (MiM)
EMLYON Admission Tips for Indian Students
- Choose Direct International if applying only to EMLYON; choose Join a School in France if comparing multiple top schools. The €110 fee difference is offset because the consortium fee is deducted from overall tuition fees upon admission per the official website.
- Use CAT scores if you have IIM-track preparation. EMLYON accepts CAT exclusively from Indian applicants per the official website. CAT validity is 1 year, shorter than GMAT and GRE's 5-year validity. Plan submission within the CAT validity window.
- For Excellence Scholarship access, submit GMAT, GMAT Focus, GRE, or TAGE MAGE rather than CAT or emMET. EMLYON's published Excellence Scholarship thresholds reference GMAT 700+/650+ and TAGE MAGE/emMET 400+/360+ per the official website. Specific CAT thresholds are not published. The free emMET test does not qualify for the Excellence Scholarship per the official website.
- Apply during the first application session for the 10% Early Bird Scholarship. Per the official website, the Early Bird Scholarship awards 10% tuition reduction for first-session applicants and 5% for second-session applicants. Lock test scores by November or December for the first session.
- Stack Excellence + Early Bird scholarships for combined 20% reduction. Indian applicants with GMAT 700+ submitting in the first session qualify for both per the official website. Combined with Individual Scholarship and CROUS eligibility, total scholarship coverage stacks to up to 60% per the official website.
- Prepare structured responses for the deferred video interview. The interview is coefficient 5, the highest weighted component of the digital test per the official website. Each question allows 15 seconds to read, then a fixed time to record orally. The format does not allow pause or restart. Practise with similar tools before the actual recording.
- Submit application at C1 English level minimum per the official website. The school explicitly recommends C1 level (advanced experienced speaker). Indian applicants qualifying for English-medium degree waiver should still demonstrate fluency during the video interview.
- Apply for the Eiffel Scholarship via EMLYON nomination if eligible. Per the official website, EMLYON may nominate eligible candidates for Eiffel; the December annual deadline applies. Indian applicants meeting Eiffel excellence criteria should request nomination during application via the program advisor.
- Initiate Études en France procedure via Campus France India after admission. Per inde.campusfrance.org, the Études en France procedure is mandatory for Indian students. The process requires Campus France pre-consular interview before VFS Global appointment. Per Campus France USA's published guidance, visa application processing takes approximately 2 to 4 weeks from the visa appointment. Apply as early as possible after admission.
- Plan for the French Strategy Consulting Track requirement if targeting MBB careers. Per the official website, the Strategy Consulting Track is delivered in French. Indian admits without French fluency can pursue the English Finance Track but lose access to the French-language Strategy Consulting preparation. Plan French language acquisition (typically B2 by Year 2) if targeting French-speaking consulting roles.

- I chose this B-school because first of all it is ranked amongst the top 50 B-schools in the world. Secondly, the curriculum of the program pretty good and covers almost all the essential concepts of data science and business, and lastly it gives you a lot of opportunities to network with industry experts and leaders, which therein helps you a lot during your job search.
- I really liked the up to date and well defined curriculum, the networking opportunities with industry leaders and experts, career fair consisting 500+ companies, international seminar and the international semester.
Dislikes
- The thing that I disliked the most would be the fact that sometimes the management of classes is not done properly and that creates some unnecessary pressure on the students. However, this is getting better by every year passing by.
