RMIT University World Rankings 2026

In 2026, RMIT University shows slight changes across major global rankings. It has seen a small decline in QS rankings. Its position in Times Higher Education has remained stable over recent years. In U.S. News rankings, it has also dropped slightly compared to earlier years, showing minor fluctuations rather than major shifts overall.

Ranking Body 2026 Rank 2025 Rank 2024 Rank
QS World University Rankings #125 #123 #140
THE World University Rankings #251-300 #251-300 #251-300

RMIT University in 2026 remains a popular choice for Indian students due to its strong global ranking (#125 QS World University Rankings 2026), industry-linked courses, and Melbourne location. However, it is also a high-cost study destination that requires clear financial planning.

Annual tuition fees range from AUD 43,200 to AUD 50,880 (₹29.0 lakh to ₹34.1 lakh) for undergraduate programs and AUD 38,400 to AUD 50,880 (₹25.7 lakh to ₹34.1 lakh) for postgraduate programs. This means a full master’s degree can cost around AUD 76,800 to AUD 101,760 (₹51.4 lakh to ₹68.2 lakh) in tuition alone.

Living expenses add another AUD 12,220 to AUD 26,520 per year (₹8.2 lakh to ₹17.8 lakh), depending on lifestyle choices in Melbourne. Scholarships offering 20% fee reductions or AUD 5,000 (₹3.35 lakh) grants help reduce the overall burden.

  • RMIT has a total of 2 campuses and 80 buildings, in which they have a library, all the sports, medical, gym, etc. We have a club called RUSU, which is basically a student union that organises all the events at the university and also solves student queries. Moreover, there are lots of clubs for instance, Indian Club, Asian clubs, etc.

  • My University has three campuses. The city campus, which holds mostly IT-related courses, is the best when it comes to having events. It has an amazing library with ample resources to study from. We have a Student union that conducts events every Thursday. It often has free Beer & food, DJ and some small fun activities.
  • The RMIT Indian club is the biggest Indian club out there in Melbourne. It conducts amazing events and celebrates almost every festival, so it makes sure we feel at home. The university also runs free dance, acting and jujutsu classes, etc, which are fun to drop by once in a while.

Overview

I did submit the SoP but for the visa process , regarding the key points , I mentioned about my course outcomes as well as my intention of coming back to India and mentioned opportunities that I would be eligible for in India once I complete this course , additionally I mentioned about why I chose Australia specifically and why this course , also I did talk about financial stability , these all points should be enough for a great sop. Rmit university is quite a tech focused university with a great brand name and in the heart of city , hence I chose this university as all the factors aligned for me and apart from that I had talked to some seniors and they had advised me to go for it when I was a bit confused between few universities . if I were to sum up my experience it has been really good , course is good rest location is really happening n good and overall everything you need Is available at campus so it works out really good .

Campus is a bit of a downside as its the city campus hence building are scattered so you won't get a campus vibe , rest the events are good every other day you have an event on mostly every festival and for extracurricular activities there are great clubs to take part in as per your interest.

Overview

Studying at RMIT has been pretty good. The infrastructure, faculty and the networking opportunities that you get is really good. It all depends on where you want to study and work, but in my personal opinion, RMIT is one of the good universities in Victoria, if not in Australia.

Campus Life

RMIT has a vibrant campus life, with all kinds of events happening around the year. There are a lot of clubs which have been formed and you can choose the right club for you and join them. The infrastructure is really advanced and the troubleshooting team is also well versed with the different types of problems one can face on campus.

Overview

The tutors are knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable. They not only lecture you on your course, but also give you time to do your own self-study. Practical study is prevalent in many RMIT courses, preparing students for their chosen careers. Extremely multicultural. It's difficult to find work there (as it is everywhere), but as I previously stated, practical placements are common at RMIT. Perfectly located in the heart of the CBD, accessible to both city dwellers and suburbanites. There are many amenities on campus, such as free breakfasts, campus festivals, and a multi-level library with stunning city views. If you live in Melbourne and want to study, I highly recommend RMIT. It will not let you down.

Campus Life

Unlike other university campuses, it is not gated or surrounded by walls - city campus life is similar to Melbourne city life. The university is easily accessible by public transportation and includes amenities such as libraries, study spaces, wi-fi, daycare, and a thriving gymnasium. To fulfil the requirements of today's university life, RMIT's facilities and buildings are constantly evolving and expanding. New award-winning buildings, such as the Swanston Academic Building and the Design Hub, and outdoor recreational spaces, such as the Alumni Courtyard and the A'Beckett Urban Square, can be found throughout campus. The most thing that student like at the RMIT is the free food event during weekdays, join a club RMIT has over 100 student clubs, societies and collectives to choose from. Clubs are a great way to meet new friends, develop new skills and connect with people who share your interests. You can even start your own club. -Activities and events RMIT Link runs regular programs and events on, and around, every campus throughout the semester. Experience Melbourne with a walking tour, see a movie between classes, discover new bands or represent RMIT at a community event. If you want to explore further afield, we do offer group trips and tours led by fully trained student volunteers to destinations such as The Great Ocean Road, Wilsons Promontory, and the Phillip Island Penguin Parade. -Sport and Fitness At the Melbourne City campus, RMIT City Fitness offers a fully-equipped gym with a range of fitness programs and activities, and at the Bundoora campus, RMIT Sports Centre has a wide range of facilities including multi-purpose courts and a fully-equipped gym.
