What can I do with a Math major?

Anything you want! A Math major is not a ?door closer,? but is usually seen as a ?door opener.? Employers who see that you have earned a degree with a Math major will perceive you as intelligent, dedicated, and at your core, a problem solver.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics, you will be able to:

• Communicate mathematical concepts, vocabulary, and notation.
• Write, critique, and interpret various forms of mathematical proof.
• Calculate, apply, and synthesize core content (e.g., algebra, calculus, statistics) in mathematics.
• Utilize effective strategies in problem solving, including data analysis and multiple representations of mathematical ideas (i.e., visualization/graphs, symbolic notations, and numerical data).
