I applied to HEC Paris (I was admitted), NUS (I was shortlisted), and Cambridge Judge (I was rejected). I received confirmations from HEC Paris and NUS. I was rejected by Cambridge Judge because I applied in the 4th deadline and my profile was not strong enough for selection in that round, so I could probably have not applied to Judge and focused on some other college but I still wanted to give it a shot. My criteria were simple: What does the school offer in terms of people (batchmates and alumni), Learning opportunities, and Career perspectives. I chose HEC over NUS because I had been in Europe for work and had connections there. Application process at HEC: Initial application, two interviews with alumni, offer Eligibility Criteria: This is hard to describe; schools look for a mix of GMAT/GRE, Academic background, Professional Experience and Diversity of experiences you bring, including international experience. They would also look at how many people from the same geography are applying for the programme. There is no minimum score but the average GMAT at HEC MBA is around 690 The overall admission experience was smooth except I had some problems scheduling one of my alumni interviews because the alumni got COVID and that led to me missing the application deadline or decision deadline. I applied for the following universities: University of Texas - waitlisted University of Arizona - accepted I extensively researched universities and colleges in the United States of America. Since my target country was fixed, I did not look at other countries at all. In the US I focused on a particular course with the latest I. Demand technology and skills that are being offered rather than outdated generic theory. I applied to the above-mentioned two universities which have these kinds of courses and j got accepted into UA so I chose this, which also aligned with the course objectives. Course offered from UA and the curriculum that they offer is quite relevant to what the current changing market demands. You fill out the application form on their website called gradeapp and fill in your academic details with supporting documents and if you have a GPA greater than 3, there are high chances that you'll be accepted in University. University of Arizona - Admitted and attending. University of Alabama - admitted SUNY - Buffalo - rejected UMBC - Baltimore - rejected BIT - rejected I don’t have a strong idea about what could’ve gone wrong with the rejected applications. Might’ve something to do with my background in IT and no relevant work experience in DS. Also, these schools are have highly competitive seats - so are correspondingly difficult to get into. A renowned professor who has accrued a lot of funding for his research - Steven Bethard - was one of the reasons being a subject matter expert. Also, the array of courses on offer and flexibility in course work. Low tuition fees also were a factor, as was the ease of getting part time work (in 2023 fall). Just needed to fill in my details in UA GradApp. Send over my LORs from my university professors and SOP from my side alongside my resume and relevant documents. Heard back from them within 2 months after applying in December. For me personally, i think only the IELTS exam (8.5) was considered for English proficiency. I also gave the university my GRE scores (318) to add to my application. I think the minimum requirements were 7.0 in all fields. No challenges in the admission process I could remember. University of California, Irvine—Rejected University of Maryland, College Park-Waitlisted Yeshiva University New York City, confirmed admission University of Colorado Boulder Boulder - Waitlisted University of Florida, Gainesville, confirmed admission I got rejected from UCI because I did not meet all the requirements necessary for a Masters in data science at UCI. Even though work experience was not mandatory, I believe I got rejected because I just finished my bachelors and only had 6-months experience from an internship by then. University of Arizona is amongst top 300 QS world Ranking universities. My only priority while shortlisting the universities was to get into a university that is at least among the top 300 QS-ranked universities. My only reason to choose this university amongst the rest of them I got accepted was that it was closer to my sister's place, it was comparatively easier to get on-campus jobs/student workers, and it was the 1st university I got acceptance from. But, I realised later on that UofA has advanced technology, which can be a whole different experience and definitely helps enhance your skills. It has a lot of research opportunities and the career development counsellors are a great help when it comes to resume development, career advice, etc. The University also has a lot of GA opportunities that not only help you with your tuition fee but can also be an added experience to your resume as you get to learn a lot while working with a lot of professors and intellectual PhD students and/or grad students. Currently, my GA position is helping me understand and learn lot about AR/VR world. The admission process was simplified; it can be a lot to figure it out all by yourself but once I got accepted and got to create a university account and email, received a complete guide with steps to feed in my information in the universities's website and complete my initial steps, I had to pay my tuition and fee for the 1st semester after choosing the courses for the 1st semester. The process felt very simple, as the advisor stays in touch with you and helps you through every step and the guide/grad steps are pretty simple and easy to understand. The generalized eligibility criteria to get into UofA is to have a good SOP, 3 LORs, IELTS score of 7.5 minimum and GRE/GMAT/SAT are optional for grad courses. I applied for the Fall 2023 intake as I wanted to pursue masters more than getting a job after my bachelors.
