- Computer science is the scientific and mathematical study of computing and computer systems. The computer science program provides the broadest opportunity to study the scientific and mathematical aspects of computing and computing systems. In the computer science program, students will develop foundational competencies, and then broaden their knowledge by taking advanced computing, mathematics, engineering, and physics courses.
