Course Curriculum

8

  • Our course was 160 credits and gave us knowledge that was technical and design oriented and our course was more of practical than theoretical.
  • Our positive aspect was our faculty and our cohesive class room learning and we had a lot of site visits which made it a holistic approach and we were about 35 students out of which 80 percent were Indians. Negative aspect was that our labs could have been more established and worked upon

Admission Experience

  • I got scholarship with this one and I took it, I didn’t apply else where after that . I had a 100% scholarship and due to the fact that my family lived in the same country I decided to pursue in this university.i however did look at other options and thought of considering but since my course worked out with this college i went ahead with them and my advisor was really understanding and she helped me a lot during the application process
  • Since it was a private university and I studied in UAE itself the criteria was my marks only and my admission process was also very smooth. I had to submit my marks and I got a conditional offer letter and since I was on 100% scholarship it was very smooth. My scholarship though was reduced to 20% and later 10% for the upcoming years. I enjoyed course a lot and learned a lot. This college was upcoming with a new campus and that’s what attracted me to this university
  • I applied for September intake and like I had mentioned it was the scholarship and fee structure that influenced my decision. Admissions took about a week and was a very easy process after I submitted my marks I got my offer letter. After my confirmation I paid 3000 refundable deposit after a campus tour and after which I had my registration number and account details form the university

Faculty

8

  • Our design studio and heavy credit course had 2:40 ratio that is 2 faculty for 40 students. Teaching methods were very straightforward. Yet lacked knowledge on 3D outputs.
  • Our faculty did assist but the approach is better now and I loved all my faculty members. Some of them are also my colleagues and I am inspired by them everyday. They have always been attentive to our needs and understanding to our problems

Campus Life

10

  • In uae there is one campus and a few schools under same education group but we do have international campus all around the world. We have a library, dance studio, gym and a pool attached to a huge sports hall.
  • We also have a giant field with two courts. Our labs are also quite interesting and have various machines inclusive of wood cutting materials and 3D printers

Part Time Jobs

  • yes I have achieved the position of a teaching assistant and serving the university for about 4 years. Pay scale ranges from 4.5k to 5k and they do offer placements in university in terms of marketing, lab, faculty and more. My university has been very understanding and provided me with immense support in this case. My load is about 22 - 25 credits as per lab is concerned. It is not easy to secure a position as there is a few rounds of interview but it is highly possible.
  • Yes students do work for part time as a promoter or in events but it is not part time as per UAE work practices. Our career resource center also helped us gain alot of opportunities and we have volunteering opportunities with various art and design events in UAE. we also working with different community engagement activities as well which incorporated of painting walls of different spaces

Placement

6

  • We all were already working with various different things, I worked as a promotor and my other friends also were in the market when we graduated. starting salary will be from 3000 dhs for any stream unless it is a specialization.
  • We found jobs through our network, campus recruitment, Internships and online jobs. Some of my batchmates are working with Danube and others are working with furniture design departments and I am working with my University

Accommodation

Off Campus
6

  • My accommodation was with my family but an average of 2000 dhs is required per month. There are plenty of spaces available near the university and there are accessible rooms.
  • Some do have WiFi and electricity inclusive while others have it additional. Student hostel cost around 3000 dhs. The areas are close to the campus at a distance of 15 minutes and there is public transport accessibility near the areas

Exams

  • There was no examination required for the admission process and it was a simple process and documentation. I had to submit my passport and and emirates ID which is national ID in the uae and a photograph.
  • We didn’t have any interview process it was only a campus tour and meeting the program leader. However my majors in high school are from the same department of design and hence my marks proved it

Fees

  • So my fee structure was 35,000 per year which is considered pretty average compared to other institutions and I had to pay additionally 500 dhs for transport and about 200 dhs for food or other activities.
  • My fees for university was semester wise which could be paid cash or card or cheque and my rent was actually managed by my family which was about 2,500 dhs

Scholarship

  • As mentioned earlier I had a 100% scholarship for freshman year and then 20% and 10 % for the remaining year.
  • Eligibility was 90% marks and during my college we had about 100 scholarships based on merit/ nationality/ girl student. We didn’t have a cash amount and was usually deducted from the final fee structure. One of my batch mates studied completely free of cost for all 3 years
