Master of Science [M.S] (Master's Programme in Environmental Science)
Field of Study:
₹15.1 L/Yr
Theoretical models and empirical data are brought together in a hands-on manner, using today's most pressing environmental and sustainability issues as examples. Multidisciplinary perspectives are adopted, while the need for integrative and reflective discussions is emphasised. Lectures and seminars are given by S?dert?rn University?s researchers, as well as guest lecturers from other universities, organisations, public authorities, and businesses. Students are given the opportunity to refine their skills in verbal and written presentations, as well as communication techniques. It is also possible to receive a 60-credit Master?s degree after one year of full-time study.
Environment, Communication and Politics (ECP) has a particular focus on the various forms of communication between stakeholders, authorities, international organisations, NGOs and business representatives, emphasising how interests, power, and expert knowledge shape the ways in which key environmental hazards are perceived and acted upon locally, nationally and globally. The gap between scientific expertise on the one hand, and practical environmental administration on the other, is further analysed. The issue of how to bridge this gap is given high priority.
