ECU 2026 International Undergraduate Scholarship

The scholarship is open to future international students commencing a bachelor's degree at ECU in Semester 1 or Semester 2, 2026. It is not available to current ECU students. The table below summarises everything you need to know before applying.

The scholarship applies only to tuition fees. It cannot be used for accommodation, health cover, textbooks or any other living expenses. ECU applies the discount directly on a unit-by-unit basis at the relevant census date each semester.

How Much Can Indian Students Save With the ECU International Undergraduate Scholarship?

The 20% tuition fee reduction applies for the entire duration of your bachelor's degree at ECU, not just the first year. For a 3-year bachelor's degree, this is a recurring saving every semester. The table below shows the actual savings for popular courses at ECU that Indian students commonly apply for.

Over a 3-year degree, the total savings range from approximately AUD 23,000 to AUD 24,000 (₹15.7 lakh to ₹16.4 lakh). This is a meaningful reduction for Indian families funding an overseas education.

Note for Indian students: The scholarship covers only tuition fees. You still need to budget separately for Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), accommodation, food and transport. Weekly living costs in Perth range from approximately AUD 200 to AUD 300 (₹13,700 to ₹20,500) per week.

Who Is Eligible for the ECU International Undergraduate Scholarship 2026?

India is explicitly listed as an eligible country for this scholarship. However, eligibility goes beyond nationality. You must meet all of the following conditions at the time of applying and throughout your course.

Several bachelor's degrees are excluded from this scholarship. Indian students planning to study the following courses at ECU are not eligible:

• Bachelor of Science (Nursing) and Bachelor of Science (Nursing)/Bachelor of Science (Midwifery)
• Bachelor of Science (Paramedical)
• Bachelor of Science (Cybercrime, Security and Intelligence)
• Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Studies, Primary and Secondary)
• Bachelor of Arts (Acting, Dance, Music Theatre, Arts and Cultural Management)
• Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Performing Arts
• Bachelor of Counter Terrorism, Security, and Intelligence
• Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Visual Arts
• Bachelor of Preclinical Foundations of Imaging Science

Important note for Indian students planning Nursing at ECU: The Bachelor of Science (Nursing) is excluded from this scholarship. If Nursing is your target course, you will not receive the 20% fee reduction under this scholarship. Check the ECU official scholarship page for the full list of eligible courses before applying.

How to Apply for the ECU International Undergraduate Scholarship 2026 as an Indian Student

There is no separate scholarship application form. The scholarship is automatically assessed when ECU's Admissions Office reviews your course application. Here is the exact process Indian students must follow.

The scholarship cannot be deferred. If you defer your course commencement, you lose the scholarship. You must commence study in 2026 to retain eligibility.

Also note: if you are awarded this scholarship, you cannot simultaneously hold the 2026 ECU Australian Qualification International Scholarship. You must choose one.

ECU 2026 Australian Qualification International Scholarship

If you have previously studied in Australia or completed an Australian curriculum qualification, you may be eligible for a different ECU scholarship — the 2026 Australian Qualification International Scholarship. This scholarship also offers a 20% reduction in tuition fees and covers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

This scholarship is relevant for Indian students who have:

• Completed secondary schooling through an Australian curriculum (such as WACE, VCE, HSC or SACE) in India or Australia
• Completed a Study Abroad or Student Exchange program at an Australian university
• Completed an AQF Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or degree at an Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
• Completed at least 60 credit points of undergraduate or postgraduate study at another Australian institution
• Completed an ECU-recognised University Foundation program delivered by an Australian university

Both scholarships are automatically assessed. You do not need to apply separately for either. ECU's Admissions Office determines which scholarship you qualify for based on your application details.

ECU Undergraduate Tuition Fees 2026 for Indian Students

ECU's annual tuition fees for international undergraduate students range from approximately AUD 37,400 to AUD 44,000 per year, depending on the course.

• After the 20% scholarship, the effective annual fee drops to approximately AUD 29,900 to AUD 35,200. The table below shows fees for courses popular with Indian students, both before and after the scholarship.

The application fee for ECU is USD 75 (₹6,457). This is a one-time fee paid at the time of application and is separate from tuition fees.

What Indian Students Must Maintain to Keep the ECU Scholarship

Receiving the scholarship is not the end of the process. ECU can revoke the scholarship at any point if you fail to meet the ongoing conditions. These are the key conditions Indian students must be aware of before accepting the scholarship.

• Full-time enrolment is mandatory. You must maintain 60 credit points per semester. Dropping to part-time study without ECU's express approval will put your scholarship at risk.
• No deferral beyond one semester. You can defer your studies for a maximum of one semester during your course. Deferring for longer without the ECU's approval may result in the scholarship being revoked.
• Commencement cannot be deferred. You must start your course in 2026. If you defer your start date to 2027, you lose the scholarship entirely.
• Fees must be paid on time. If you miss a tuition fee payment deadline, ECU may revoke the scholarship and revert your fees to the full international rate.
• The scholarship cannot be transferred to another university or to an ECU campus outside Western Australia.
• You must notify ECU of any change in circumstances that may affect your eligibility, such as a change in visa status or enrolment load.
• The scholarship can be transferred to another eligible ECU course, at ECU's discretion, if you change your degree.

Note for Indian students: Many students on a student visa in Australia work part-time to manage living costs. Working part-time does not affect your scholarship eligibility as long as you maintain full-time enrolment (60 credit points per semester) and meet all visa conditions. On a student visa, you can work up to 48 hours per fortnight during the study period.
